A brief history of the Minneapolis & St. Louis mainline from Mason City to Peoria and Albia:

06/26/21

Located near 6th Avenue and H Street in Oskaloosa, this bridge is the western of two bridges at tis location.
Built in approximately 1895, this bridge features a single through plate girder span, set onto concrete substructures. The girder is unusual, as it does not have any outer flanges.
It is unknown for certain when the bridge was built, although it appears to date to approximately 1900, when several bridges on this line were rebuilt.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition, with little serious deterioration.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
